Brick storefronts, the plaza fountain and tree-lined streets. The best inland option for a vintage, walkable feel.
Golden hour
Golden hour is roughly the last hour before sunset. Start the ceremony at least 90 minutes before sunset so portraits land in that window. May and June often begin under a marine layer, which gives soft light and usually burns off by afternoon.

FAQ
Golden hour is roughly the last hour before sunset. Along the OC coast that is about 7:05 to 8:05 PM in mid-June and about 3:45 to 4:45 PM in mid-December. Schedule portraits for that window and start the ceremony at least 90 minutes before sunset.
The marine layer is common in May and June and often burns off by early afternoon. Fog gives soft, even light that flatters everyone, so it is rarely a problem. Every coastal wedding gets a backup cliff-top or garden spot in the timeline.
Some cities and state parks require a permit for professional photography, and the rules differ by location. Permit requirements are checked for every spot on your timeline before the wedding day.
September and October are the favorites: warm water, clear skies and the marine layer mostly gone. April and May are also beautiful but more likely to start overcast.
